The Role

Now, more than ever, our successful programs are assisting all New Yorkers and helping them to thrive! We are looking for emotionally intelligent Peer Professionals to help people improve and better their daily lives and experiences, within specified standards and timescales.

 

 

What You Will Do

  • Serve as support, mentor, advocate, and life coach to individuals with a substance use disorder.
  • Develop person-centered recovery goals that enable individuals to live, learn, socialize, work and thrive in the community. 
  • Help support the client’s recovery by focusing on successful community reintegration. 
  • Provide individual face to face services in the client’s home or community as specified in the service protocols. 

Who You Will Be

  • Someone with a High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) or CRPA-Provisional for designated programs.
  • At least Two (2) years’ work experience or volunteer experience in a recovery-oriented setting.
  • Knowledge of substance use disorder recovery process.
  • Computer literacy including familiarity in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be available to travel throughout the required catchment area as needed for applicable programs and able to navigate the public transportation systems to client’s home and within the community.
  • Commitment to recovery-oriented systems of care.
