Maintenance Supervisor

As Maintenance Supervisor for Husqvarna Construction in Columbia, SC you are responsible for supervising and working alongside maintenance personnel in performing preventative and corrective maintenance on all production equipment as well as maintenance and repairs to plant facility. This position is critical for ensuring the equipment and facilities are operational for the production of diamond blades and bits.

Shift:  First Shift, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Monday - Friday

RESPONSIBILITIES

Managing

• Provide technical direction and training to maintenance and production personnel on operation, maintenance and repair of new production equipment
• Assist in preventative maintenance and critical repairs of all production equipment
• Administrate and enforce all company policies
• Conduct performance appraisals and provide regular performance feedback and development opportunities to team

Methods

• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and facility systems
• Troubleshoot and repair all production equipment, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Install, relocate, and remove of production machines and support services
• General repairs to building systems
• Follow company policies to ensure compliance of EPA and environmental regulations, as well as OSHA safety and health regulations in the maintenance processes
• Assure maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with OSHA and EPA Regulations

Machinery

• Order and maintain spare parts inventory and maintenance supplies to insure minimal down time
• Organize and select proper tooling and materials to fulfill work requirements
• Maintain specialized knowledge and familiarity with manufacturing equipment operation and facility systems

• Clean equipment as part of preventative maintenance process

Measurements

• Provide quality checks on machinery and facility systems to ensure that repairs are effective
• Maintain accurate records of scheduled and completed preventative maintenance procedures
• Ensure production equipment is operating and producing product to set designed standards
• Maintain Statistics on uptime and repair cost
• Record quality data and preventative maintenance record keeping

CRITICAL FUNCTIONAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

• Working knowledge of basic industrial math, metric system of weights and measurements, micrometer use, bore gauging and dial indicators
• Advanced knowledge of machinery repair techniques to include pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics             

EDUCATION, ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE

• High school or equivalent
• Certified Technical Training with concentration in industrial maintenance and repair preferred.
• 7-10 years’ experience in a machinery and factory maintenance environment required
• 3-5 years' supervisor experience

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Above average exposure to manufacturing environment
• Job tasks will require contact with sharp edges on machined components, powdered metal dusts and grime associated with manufacturing operations
• Must wear PPE in compliance with OSHA regulations
• Ability to lift 35 lbs. on a regular basis in addition to some heavy lifting on occasion
• Able to bend, stoop, twist, and climb a ladder
• Ability to assemble small parts and screws
• Occasionally push/pull up to 35 lbs.
• Walking and standing for long periods of time on concrete floors (full shifts)
• Daily, weekly, monthly and annual deadlines
