Magenta is an AI-native matchmaking platform reimagining how people connect-starting with romance, and eventually expanding to friendship, mentorship, and more. We’re not just building a dating app-we’re building a deeply personalized, emotionally intelligent, and serendipity-driven platform that brings intentionality back to human connection.

Magenta’s matching engine is powered by a proprietary system we call SERAL- a layered AI framework integrating cognitive profiling, preference embedding, probabilistic reasoning, and a conversational AI matchmaker. We aim to blend advanced AI with emotionally resonant design to make finding someone feel both magical and meaningful.

We’re based in Dubai and London, and preparing for a soft launch (MVP) by September.

The Role

We’re looking for a hands-on, mission-aligned CTO to join as a founding team member. You’ll shape the technical strategy from scratch, make key architectural decisions, and lead the recruitment of our tech team. This is an opportunity to co-build something culturally resonant, technically innovative, and creatively ambitious.

Responsibilities

• Define the overall tech stack and architecture for Magenta’s MVP and beyond

• Build and manage an early engineering team (front-end, back-end, ML/AI)

• Collaborate with product, design, and AI advisors to turn our vision into a scalable reality

• Oversee security, infrastructure, and backend scalability decisions

• Lead the integration of conversational AI tools and matchmaking algorithms

• Work closely with the founder on long-term technical roadmap and investor materials

You might be a fit if you:

• Are an ex-CTO, ex-VP of Engineering, or senior technical lead who’s scaled a consumer product

• Have experience building and shipping apps (ideally B2C or social)

• Are comfortable in the early chaos: zero-to-one thinking, ambiguity, high ownership

• Understand how to work with AI/ML teams or integrate conversational systems (NLP experience is a plus)
