As a Team Member at Cushing Terrell, you will*…

  • Provide drawing input and set up utilizing office standards and basic design criteria provided by an engineer and under their supervisor, prepare and change drawings
  • Assists in production of construction documents utilizing Revit building information software
  • Collaborate with peers and train less experienced drafters
  • Coordinate production of documents with other departments
  • Produce CADD based documents or changes to documents and development of details based on "Red Lines" from supervisors or other senior team members
  • Prepare construction documents as directed by the engineer, designer, technician, or project manager, i.e., plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules
  • Perform basic architectural and/or engineering calculations and take-offs
  • Conduct site surveys under the direction of an engineer or designer for as-building existing HVAC and plumbing systems for input into drawings
  • Assist in the preparation of system or building layouts and help with limited coordination from other departments
  • Organize draft product selections based on example projects and manufacturer information
  • Size ductwork based on airflow volumes using a simple duct calculator
  • Size piping based on flow rates using a simple pipe sizing calculator
  • Provide reviews of shop drawings during construction administration process for engineer of record approval
  • Prepare and coordinate production plotting efforts with the team and other disciplines
  • Notify other team members/departments of changes that may affect their drawings

*The majority of the time, a person in this role will be sitting in an office with limited physical requirements. This may require individuals to bend, stretch, twist, and reach.

Qualifications* and abilities you will bring to the table:

  • An associate degree or higher education in computer technology, drafting and design, integrated arts, animation and modeling, or other related programs 
  • 10+ years of job-related experience or more
  • Proficient in Autodesk MEP Revit, Auto CADD, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and Outlook
  • Strong understanding of HVAC and Plumbing systems, mathematical skills, component, and systems design
  • Ability to effectively manage time
  • Proficient in modeling HVAC and/ or Plumbing systems using MEP Revit BIM software with guidance from engineers or mechanical designers
  • Ability to model systems in 3 dimensions using BIM software to coordinate and create conflict free piping and duct designs

Your pay

The salary for this position is based on the location/s posted. If you are a candidate living outside of (this region/these regions), we still encourage you to apply as salary ranges may differ across states/cities/job markets.

  • Expected Range*: $59,000 to $70,000 
  • The position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus

*The actual salary offered for the role will be determined based on various factors including but not limited to; years of experience, certifications, location, level of job-related knowledge, and other job-related factors (as permitted by law).
