Job Purpose:

The Director of Market Intelligence serves as the strategic bridge between real-time market dynamics and organizational decision-making. This role is responsible for identifying, synthesizing, and communicating actionable insights from market data, competitive intelligence, and environmental trends to inform leadership decisions across enrollment, operations, and institutional strategy.

Positioned within the System-wide Marketing Department, the Director of Market Intelligence ensures that The Community Solution and its affiliated colleges and universities are equipped with clear, forward-looking intelligence to support growth, differentiation, and impact.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Monitor and interpret higher education, industry, and societal trends—translating this information into structured insight briefings for institutional and System leaders.
  • Forecast Market Opportunity
Analyze and size new markets, audience segments, and program opportunities using structured market sizing frameworks.
  • Deliver Executive-Ready Insight
Develop presentations, dashboards, and reports that distill complex market dynamics into concise, actionable insights for institutional presidents, executive leadership, and strategic planning forums.
  • Inform Strategic Decision-Making
Support marketing, enrollment, and operational planning by communicating the “voice of the market” to ensure alignment between internal strategies and external demand.
  • Institutional and System Collaboration
Partner with operations leaders to inform geographic and program expansion, pricing, positioning, and innovation efforts.
  • Competitor Intelligence
Conduct structured competitive reviews, including program positioning, pricing, geographic presence, marketing strategy, and differentiation.
  • Trend and Opportunity Reporting
Maintain a regular cadence of briefings that highlight emerging risks, macro trends, and future-focused opportunities across the higher education landscape.
  • Strategic Partnerships
Manage relationships with external research and data vendors; evaluate and implement tools to strengthen market intelligence capabilities across the System.

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven ability to interpret complex market environments and deliver insights that drive organizational strategy.
  • Exceptional communicator: adept at tailoring messaging to executive stakeholders and diverse cross-functional audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated expertise in synthesizing data from varied sources into strategic recommendations.
  • Proficiency in market analysis tools (Tableau, Excel, EMSI/Burning Glass, IPEDS, etc.).
