Position Overview

RecruitGo is seeking a meticulous and technically minded Estimator to manage large quotation opportunities from initial enquiry through to high-quality proposal generation. This role is critical in ensuring accurate, professional, and commercially sound estimates that align with client needs and company standards. The Estimator works closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to review works packages, manage supplier pricing, and prepare well-structured proposals.

Responsibilities:
Estimation & Proposal Generation
  • Review incoming enquiries and extract key technical details for estimation
  • Collaborate with the Sales or Preconstruction Director to determine the quoting process for each opportunity
  • Input door schedules and associated documents into bespoke data processing and quoting systems
  • Group large quantities of doors by key variables to create effective pricing structures
  • Review and interpret ironmongery schedules, creating internal versions for pricing clarity
  • Generate accurate and professional proposals based on extracted data, supplier quotes, and internal pricing
  • Complete client-requested documents such as BOQs (Bill of Quantities), PQQs (Pre-Qualification Questionnaires), and revisions
  • Ensure all proposals meet internal guidelines and include detailed, clear notes for future reference
     
Supplier Coordination
  • Prepare and issue clear RFQs (Requests for Quotation) to suppliers and manage timely follow-ups
  • Use supplier price lists to create estimates where necessary
  • Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent pricing and response times
     
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Participate in daily and weekly team meetings
  • Liaise with the project delivery and sales teams to ensure proposals align with business goals and delivery capacity
  • Provide estimating and costing support across departments as required
  • Review confirmed projects to optimize technical details and costs ahead of handover to the delivery team
     
Administrative & Support Tasks
  • Manage re-quotes and proposal revisions
  • Aid other departments in responding to customer queries when needed
  • Complete other tasks and projects as assigned by management in line with your skill set

Requirements: 

Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in construction estimating, ideally related to doors, access systems, or architectural products
  • Strong analytical and data handling skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and/or bespoke quoting systems
  • Experience reading technical specifications, schedules, and construction drawings
  • Previous use of quoting software and ERP/CRM systems is a plus
     

Communication & Organizational Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in technical documentation
  • Strong time management and the ability to meet deadlines
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Familiarity with tender processes and pricing structures in B2B construction projects
