Job description

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by 👋

Are you actively looking for a new opportunity? Or just checking the market? Well
you might just be in the right place!

We’re looking for a Manager, Site Reliability Engineering to lead a high-performing team of 6–8 cloud platform engineers in Auckland. This team has a broad scope, covering both Site Reliability and Developer Experience — from managing CI/CD pipelines to building scalable, high-availability production environments. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our global cloud-based POS SaaS platform. You’ll focus on improving the developer experience through better tools and streamlined processes, partnering with teams across the company.

You’ll ensure the team has a clear vision and roadmap, and that delivery stays on track, as well as clarifying expectations early, reducing rework and improving efficiency. You will be responsible for tracking and continuously improving key performance metrics, including developer productivity, platform stability, scalability, and cost efficiency. You’ll also play an active role in communicating with stakeholders, staying informed on company-wide initiatives that impact your team, and providing timely, constructive feedback to peers and managers.

What you’ll be doing:
  • People Leadership - Lead and support a senior team of cloud platform engineers — coaching, mentoring, and driving performance and development. You’ll manage people processes like goal setting and performance reviews, while fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.
  • Strategy and Roadmap - Define and execute the team’s strategic vision, aligning priorities with business goals. You’ll own the team roadmap, balancing developer experience, platform stability, and scalability — keeping projects on track and delivering impact.
  • Infrastructure and Automation - Guide the design and delivery of scalable, reliable infrastructure for our global POS SaaS platform, with a strong focus on automation to improve deployment, monitoring, and operations.
  • Collaboration and Communication - Work across engineering, product, and SRE teams to align on platform initiatives. You’ll lead cross-team projects and keep stakeholders informed through clear, proactive communication.

Please note that you may be required to take part in our On-Call rotation roster.

What you need to bring:

We're looking for a candidate who has experience with the following:

  • Proven experience working independently across multiple projects and workstreams, with minimal oversight.
  • A strong track record of delivering successful projects through high-performing teams.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS and GCP.
  • Expertise in infrastructure as code, with a focus on automation and operational efficiency.
  • Experience setting long-term objectives and providing clear technical and team leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in improving cross-functional processes that go beyond the boundaries of a single team.

We know that people are more than what’s on their CV. If you’re unsure that you have the right profile for the role... hit the ‘Apply’ button and give it a try!
