Job description

Apollo Intelligence is poised to be the leader in market research and insights for life sciences. As Director of Product Marketing you will play a pivotal role in contributing to that vision, helping Apollo Intelligence achieve its full potential in Accelerating Health Innovation. This role will lead the go-to-market strategy for our platform-based products, driving adoption in a specialized and highly competitive space.

Apollo’s solutions empower organizations to make data-driven decisions that enhance patient outcomes and streamline healthcare processes. We supply healthcare organizations with real-time access to over 2 million healthcare professionals, the largest available anywhere in the world. Our 200+ employees are spread across 25 U.S. states and five countries, collaborating to support some of the largest organizations in the healthcare industry. Our customers include over 300 leading global pharmaceutical, medical device, market research agency, and consultancy companies.

As the Director of Product Marketing, you will sit at the intersection of product, sales, and marketing, ensuring our platform and products are positioned as the go-to solutions for market research in life sciences. Our industry is constantly evolving, and you must be open to rethinking and iterating on past approaches—comfort with ambiguity and a solutions-oriented mindset are critical for success. You will combine strategic insights with tactical execution to define our market strategy, enable our sales teams, and craft compelling messaging that resonates with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Market, Competitive Analysis & Product Analytics

  • Conduct in-depth research to understand market trends, customer pain points, and industry shifts in life sciences.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape, delivering actionable intelligence to inform positioning, product development, and GTM strategies.
  • Assess current product offerings, analyzing real-world use cases to validate or challenge assumptions about Apollo’s products.
  • Provide leadership with data-driven insights, ensuring decisions are based on ground truth, not just legacy narratives.
  • Develop detailed buyer personas to align messaging and campaigns with audience needs.

Product Positioning & Messaging

  • Define and refine our platform’s positioning and messaging to highlight its unique value to life sciences researchers.
  • Develop a compelling narrative that challenges the status quo, articulating how our solutions solve real industry challenges.
  • Partner with product teams to ensure messaging aligns with customer expectations and sets them up for success.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to vet different ideas, ensuring we approach positioning from multiple perspectives.

Sales Enablement

  • Develop sales enablement materials (pitch decks, playbooks, competitive battle cards, FAQs).
  • Train sales teams on product features, value propositions, and market trends, ensuring they can confidently engage prospects.
  • Design and deliver product demonstrations that make an impact on potential customers.
  • Partner with sales to create onboarding experiences that immediately demonstrate product value.

Content Creation

  • Produce high-quality content (whitepapers, case studies, blogs, videos) that reinforces our authority in the market.
  • Work with subject matter experts to create compelling thought leadership content.
  • Align content strategies with demand generation campaigns for maximum impact.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with product management to incorporate user feedback into marketing strategies.
  • Collaborate with customer success to identify opportunities for upselling and customer advocacy.
  • Drive clarity and prioritization in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, ensuring teams stay aligned.
  • Help shape pricing strategies by understanding customer perceptions, value, and market positioning.

  • Deep understanding of market research processes, tools, and competitive landscape in life sciences.
  • Proven ability to craft clear and compelling messaging for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Expertise in developing sales enablement materials and delivering engaging product demonstrations.
  • Strong writing skills, with a portfolio of content that demonstrates the ability to drive engagement and conversion.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize initiatives effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Track record of leading successful new product launches including GTM strategy for platform/SaaS/technology
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, or equivalent experience

Mindsets & Attributes
