What’s unique about this role?

We are seeking a hands-on, high-impact Senior Engineering Manager to lead a globally distributed team of talented engineers. This role combines strong technical leadership with a strategic mindset to drive delivery, process maturity, and team development. You will be responsible for managing engineering execution, mentoring engineers at all levels, and advocating for continuous improvement and efficiency—leveraging modern tools including AI where appropriate.

 

What will this person do?

  • Technical Ownership: Drive the architecture, design, and operations of scalable and reliable software applications.
  • Process Leadership: Define and evolve engineering practices that scale with the business, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency.
  • Project Delivery: Own planning, estimation, and delivery of engineering projects. Be accountable for outcomes and timelines.
  • Team Development: Attract, hire, and retain top engineering talent. Support career development through mentoring, regular feedback, and growth opportunities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement in code quality, tooling, process, and collaboration, and champion necessary changes. 
  • Efficiency & Innovation: Promote engineering productivity improvements through automation, tooling, and emerging technologies—especially AI-powered solutions.

  • B.S. in Science/Engineering or equivalent experience/certification.
  • 10+ years professional software development with a strong track record of delivering production-grade systems and services.
  • 3+ years in a hands-on engineering management role, leading distributed teams 
  • Experience in the eDiscovery industry and Relativity is highly desirable.
  • AI-Enhanced Development: Hands-on experience with AI-powered engineering tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, WindSurf, and similar platforms.
  • Technical Stack Expertise: C#, .NET Frameworks, RESTful APIs, Angular, Microsoft SQL Server including large-scale data handling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Cloud and Infrastructure: Experience with Microsoft Azure services (e.g., App Services, Azure SQL, Azure Functions, etc.), Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.

 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Duties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer table.
  • Duties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional setting.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).

The salary range for this position may be tailored to be lower or higher in different talent markets.
