Position Overview

The Manager, Ship Condition at Margaritaville at Sea is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the optimal condition and maintenance of the fleet's vessels. This role involves coordinating with various departments to maintain the highest standards of safety, functionality, and appearance of the ships, thereby enhancing the overall guest experience and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Shining Seas program in collaboration with Hotel Operations, including:
  • Scheduling and conducting bi-annual ship inspections
    • Preparing audit findings and closeout documentation
    • Tracking completion of outstanding corrective actions
    • Supporting shipboard teams with material and manpower coordination
  • Manage Hotel Repair & Maintenance (R&M) projects related to dry docks:
  • Maintain and track project lists
    • Ensure proper prioritization and follow-through of identified work
  • Provide project management support for ongoing hotel R&M initiatives throughout the year
  • Collaborate with brand leadership to define, document, and regularly review brand standards related to hotel and guest-facing areas
  • Monitor and report on adherence to brand standards and provide actionable recommendations for continuous improvement
Qualifications

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in ship maintenance and operations.

- Proven track record of managing ship condition and maintenance schedules.

- Experience in a managerial role within the maritime industry.

- Familiarity with maritime regulations and compliance standards.

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

- Ability to analyze technical reports and data related to ship conditions.

- Proficiency in using ship management software and tools.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety and compliance.
