The Opportunity

At Sema4.ai, we're building an Enterprise AI Agent platform that reinvents how knowledge work happens - how people and AI agents collaborate to get work done better and faster. You'll join a small, fast-moving team and own a critical area - there's few options depending on your experience and interests.

We're hiring a Technical Product Manager with 3–5 years of experience who's ready to step into their first senior role. You're comfortable shipping features and collaborating closely with our awesome engineering team. You think in prompts, APIs, embeddings, and agents. You prototype before you spec. You don't need help using the tools—you are the user.

Who You Are
  • AI Native: You know what current models can and can't do. You stay current, not through blogs, but by using the latest tools (e.g., GPT, Claude, different modalities, open-source models, etc.). You test limits and understand affordances.
  • Technically Fluent: You can write Python and some SQL. Not for building infrastructure—but to glue APIs, test ideas, build scrappy demos, or explore data. You understand how things work under the hood and speak developer fl uently.
  • Product Builder: You've owned real product surface area. You know how to write a good PRD, prioritize tradeoffs, talk to customers, and iterate based on feedback.
  • High-Velocity Learner: You thrive in ambiguity. You can enter a new domain, figure it out, and ship something useful faster than most.
  • Execution-Oriented: You have a bias toward making things real. No hand-offs, no silos. You're there from discovery to deployment.
  • Customer-Centric: You empathize with users, understand their challenges, and translate their needs into product solutions.


What You’ll Do
  • Own a piece of our platform from a product perspective—we'll pick the area together
  • Work closely with engineering, customers, and field team to identify needs and ship real value.
  • Write light code—demos, scripts, data workfl ows, API calls, docs—to validate ideas and stay close to the product.
  • Actively use our platform and the surrounding AI ecosystem to stay grounded in what's possible.
  • Write clearly: specs, PRFAQs, docs, customer notes, Slack posts. Your writing is part of your product delivery.
  • Jump between frontend UX, backend architecture, and customer-facing features as needed.
  • Engage deeply with customers to uncover their requirements, demonstrate our solutions, and become their trusted advisor in AI implementation.
  • Identify customer needs, prototype solutions, and collaborate with engineering to develop impactful features.
  • Communicate complex AI concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.


What You Bring
  • 3–5 years of experience in Product Management or technical adjacent roles (e.g. solutions engineering, founder, forward deployed engineer).
  • Hands-on ability with Python. You don't need to build production systems—but you can build prototypes, use APIs, and manipulate data.
  • Comfort with LLM-based tools and workfl ows: prompt engineering, agents, embeddings, kbs, vector search, etc.
  • Solid understanding of how systems work: databases, APIs, auth, etc.
  • Excellent decision-making, prioritization, and product instincts.
  • Strong written communication skills, especially in remote async environments.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, compelling language for diverse audiences.
  • Skills to quickly create demos or prototypes to validate product ideas.
  • Degree in a technical or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Even Better If You Have
  • Hands-on experience developing AI products for real-world applications.
  • An MBA or equivalent practical business experience.
  • Experience working directly with customers to influence product development.
