Job Summary

The Licensed Psychologist is an integral member of DAP Health's integrative care team, responsible for conducting triage, performing comprehensive assessments, and providing psychotherapy services to patients in need of behavioral health care. This position operates within an outpatient Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting, where the psychologist will collaborate closely with providers and care teams, working with patients from diverse backgrounds and varying needs.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral and mental health assessments, including formulating diagnoses and providing treatment recommendations
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, monitor their progress, and adapt them as needed in collaboration with the patient
  • Provide brief individual, family, and/or group therapy as needed to patients with behavioral health and co-occurring disorders
  • Offer interventions and resources to patients in a mental health crisis, and coordinate referrals to higher levels of care when needed
  • When appropriate, refer patients to additional services such as psychiatric evaluation, substance abuse evaluation, case management, intensive outpatient programs, hospitalization, etc.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in collaboration with other care team members including doctors, clinicians, nurses, medical assistants, case workers, education professionals, etc.
  • Act as a liaison and coordinate care between patient and community resources as needed
  • Deliver services through a range of modalities, such as in-person, telehealth, telephone and video that are clinically appropriate and tailored to the patient's needs
  • Complete all documentation in a timely manner
  • Protect patient privacy, following HIPAA standards
  • Attend and participate in scheduled meetings
  • Provide supervision of trainees and interns as assigned
  • Perform additional job-related duties and responsibilities as requested
Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge and expertise in utilizing various psychotherapy practices and methods, including evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, dialectical behavior therapy, and more
  • Ability to stay calm and supportive during psychological emergencies orcrises, providing appropriate interventions and resources as necessary
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary medical team as well as independently
  • Awareness and sensitivity to diverse multicultural communities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills

Education and Experience

  • PhD or PsyD in Psychology
  • Active and unrestricted license as a Psychologist in the State of California
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross accredited BLS certification
  • Experience:
    • Using Electronic Health Record (EHR)
    • Providing psychotherapy treatment
    • Working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
    • Working with underserved populations preferred
    • Working in FQHC preferred
  • Minimum of two years of experience providing psychotherapy in a clinical setting pre/post licensure, with experience working with children, adolescents, and adults preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish, English/Arabic) preferred

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • This position is based on-site at a DAP Health clinic, with the option for hybrid or fully remote work, along with occasional travel to DAP Health locations
  • Operates in an office/clinical setting and requires frequent times of sitting, standing, repetitive motion, and talking
  • Requires current and valid driver’s license and current personal auto insurance
  • Able to travel to DAP Health locations throughout San Diego and Riverside
  • Ability to lift 24 pounds
