This is a remote position.

SUMMARY
We are seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Sales Engineer to support our sales team in delivering high-impact solutions to clients across various industries.

You will serve as the technical bridge between our clients, sales team, and service delivery teams. You’ll work closely with account managers and operations to scope, design, and present IT and cybersecurity solutions that align with the customer’s business needs and technical requirements. Your work ensures that proposed solutions are feasible, supportable, and deliver real value. This role is ideal for a well-rounded IT professional with MSP experience, strong customer-facing skills, and a knack for translating business challenges into actionable technical designs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partner with the sales team to identify client needs and develop customized solutions using our portfolio of managed services and cybersecurity offerings.
  • Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to prospective clients.
  • Prepare proposals, scope-of-work documents, and cost estimates in collaboration with technical and sales staff.
  • Conduct discovery sessions and assessments to identify gaps in a client’s IT and security environment.
  • Translate complex technical details into business-relevant language for executive stakeholders.
  • Serve as a liaison between the sales and operations teams to ensure successful implementation and client satisfaction.
  • Stay current on industry trends, cybersecurity threats, and emerging technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+years, Solutions Engineer, or similar role within the MSP, IT services, or cybersecurity sector.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, technologies (e.g., firewalls, SIEM, EDR, IAM), and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Familiarity with common MSP tools and platforms (e.g., RMM, PSA, backup, and monitoring tools).
  • Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, Fortinet) are a plus.
  • What we are looking for:
    • 3+years in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Technical Account Manager role at an MSP or IT services provider.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, networking, backup/disaster recovery, and common SMB security stacks.
    • Hands-on familiarity with tools such as Nerdio, ConnectWise, Datto, SentinelOne, Sophos, or similar.
    • Ability to scope, size, and price out infrastructure, cloud, and security solutions.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills — both technical and business-oriented.
  • Nice-to-Have:
    • Experience with CIS frameworks, CMMC, or NIST compliance environments.
    • Certifications such as Microsoft AZ-104, MS-900, CompTIA Security+, or Cisco CCNA.
    • Familiarity with PSA/RMM systems (e.g., ConnectWise Manage/Automate, N-able).
    • Previous MSP experience preferred. Azure cost estimation a plus.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Should be willing to accept a long-term work-from-home arrangement.
  • Should be amenable to a permanent night shift schedule.
