ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Manager, Commercial Information Technology serves as a strategic partner between the Commercial organization and IT, ensuring that technology solutions effectively support evolving commercial needs. This role blends technical business advocacy, requirements gathering, and implementation planning to deliver scalable, user-friendly systems for Sales, Customer Service, Planning, Analytics, Merchandising, and Marketing functions. As a key bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, the Senior Manager is responsible for aligning system capabilities with business goals, prioritizing enhancements, and driving successful implementation of new solutions to delivery key business objectives of improved customer experience, reduced complexity, increased commercial team effectiveness and improved return on invested capital of marketing and promotional spend. This role will own the creation and oversight of the Commercial IT Roadmap and partnering with IT to ensure key initiatives are included in the AOP and properly resourced. The role is also responsible for overseeing key customer technology integrations. 

 Qualified candidates must possess excellent communication and presentation skills, be comfortable interacting with commercial leadership, the IT organization, customers and internal collaborating teams, and have a demonstrated ability to analyze data, end user feedback and performance analytics to identify opportunities to improve business outcomes, reduce rework, or improve effectiveness leveraging technology.

 WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Act as the lead liaison between Commercial functions and IT to align systems and technology solutions with business strategy.
  • Build and own, through collaboration with Commercial leaders, the short and long-term Commercial IT Roadmaps and Budgets, and align with IT team, including incorporation of key initiatives into the AOP
  • Champion commercial business needs within IT, ensuring requirements are prioritized and clearly articulated, and technical changes support business objectives and goals. 
  • Oversee IT in gathering, documenting, and translating functional requirements into technical requirements for new system capabilities, integrations, and enhancements.
  • Be the Commercial point person to act as IT Business Partner for all IT work within commercial organization
  • Oversee the project management of Commercial Technology projects, which will be led by the IT Project Management team.
  • Lead cross-functional planning sessions for upcoming commercial technology implementations, upgrades, or integrations.
  • Support and coordinate portions of the end-to-end lifecycle of IT initiatives: specifically, requirements gathering, UAT, go-live planning and adoption management.
  • Partner with Commercial Analysts and Planning teams to ensure tools align with performance reporting, forecasting, and analytics use cases.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT), ensure adequate documentation, and support system rollout and training.
  • Evaluate commercial workflows for efficiency gaps and recommend process and technology improvements.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on commercial-facing systems, including CRM, ERP, planning, and reporting platforms.
  • Be the Technical Commercial lead for engagement with our customers/vendors around EDI integration, etc.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in business systems, commercial operations, or project management roles bridging business and IT.
  • Demonstrated experience translating business needs into system functionality and project requirements.
  • Strong business acumen with technical fluency across platforms and process design.
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation and communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation, workflow mapping, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in business collaboration tools (e.g., Teams), Microsoft Office Suite and PowerBI

  Preferred 

  • Experience in the decorated apparel, promotional goods, or mass customization sectors.
  • Background in consumer goods, B2B distribution, or merchandising-led organizations.
  • Exposure to commercial technology platforms in general (Not specific to current S&S technical environment) (e.g., Salesforce, Anaplan, Oracle, SAP, Power BI, Snowflake).
