Job description

Saaf Finance is hiring a Mortgage Quality Control Auditor to join our rapidly growing operations team. In this role, you will review loan packages for accuracy and compliance, ensure documentation completeness, and identify gaps or inconsistencies that need correction. You'll help streamline processes and work closely with both internal teams and client-side stakeholders.

The Mortgage QC Auditor is responsible for conducting pre-closing and post-closing quality control reviews on residential mortgage loan files to ensure compliance with lender/investor guidelines and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and an ability to learn and adapt to new tools. This position requires someone comfortable working remotely and independently, while also being responsive during collaboration windows.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed audits of in-process and closed mortgage loan files, including credit, income, assets, collateral and compliance.
  • Review mortgage documents (appraisal reports, title documentation, supporting income/asset documentation, etc.) for completeness and accuracy.
  • Validate data/documents in loan packages to ensure loans meet lenders/investors guidelines.
  • Flag inconsistencies, missing documentation, and compliance gaps.
  • Document audit findings clearly and accurately using internal systems. 
  • Effectively communicate audit results and deficiencies to management.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QC workflow process & procedures.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years experience in mortgage documentation, processing, or quality control (preferred).
  • Familiarity with U.S. mortgage programs (Agency, Gov’t, Non-QM, DSCR, and Residential Transition Loans).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Experience using Excel or similar documentation tools.
  • Ability to work remotely and manage tasks independently.
  • Prior experience with U.S. lenders or brokers.
  • Worked with LOS (Loan Origination Systems).
  • Knowledge of investor guidelines or compliance processes.
  • Location: Remote (India)
  • Hours: EST Timings (NY)
