About the role:

We are looking to hire a talented and experienced Video Editor to join our busy production team. As a video editor, you will be responsible for assembling recorded film and video footage, applying artistic editing techniques and creating finished, broadcast-worthy projects that accurately reflect the vision of the production director.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and other social media platforms, ensuring they align with the brand’s voice and message.
  • Collaborate with content creators to refine and polish UGC-style videos, enhancing their impact and engagement.
  • Edit raw footage into performance-driven ads for paid social media campaigns, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok ads.
  • Optimize videos for different platforms, ensuring they meet size, length, and technical specifications.
  • Add engaging effects, transitions, captions, and music to enhance the viewer experience.
  • Stay updated on social media trends, editing styles, and best practices for viral content.
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure that video ads are A/B tested and iterated based on performance data and client feedback.

Requirements:

  • Must have availability for up to three months to start (further contract dependent on performance) 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Media Encoder with a knowledge of After Effects and the entire Adobe Suite.
  • 2+ years experience editing for social media and digital platforms (advertising content a big plus).
  • Understanding of social media best practices and ecosystem trends.
  • Online editing skills: color correction, music supervision, sound mixing.
  • A firm grasp of digital camera formats, frame rates, codecs and file-based workflows.
  • Excellent communication and comprehension skills in English (both written and verbal).
  • Able to take direction well and conduct a thorough review of own work.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage editing many projects at once.
  • Familiarity with web-based collaboration tools, such as Frame.io, Zoom, Monday & Slack.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Able to conduct themselves in a professional, remote-first environment.

Ideal candidate profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in film studies, cinematography, or related field (not mandatory).
  • Previous work experience as a video editor.
  • Hands-on experience with editing software, including Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro X, Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, and Premier.
  • Creative and artistic skills.
  • Familiarity with 3D composition and special effects.
  • Portfolio of completed film productions.
  • Ability to work to a tight schedule.
  • Ability to translate ideas into complete projects.

Compensation:

The compensation range is $800-$2,500 USD a month (based on the experience).
