About Scrumconnect

Scrumconnect is a trusted delivery partner to UK government departments and public sector bodies. We design and build user-centred digital services that improve lives. Our teams bring together expert technologists, designers, researchers, and strategists to help our clients solve complex challenges in modern, agile ways.

We are currently looking for a Technical Architect to join us on a short-term, high-impact engagement.

The Role

We are delivering Alpha phases for a new digital dispute resolution service focused on the private rented sector. This work supports wider reform efforts aimed at improving access to justice for tenants and landlords through fast, fair alternatives to traditional court proceedings.

As Technical Architect, you’ll provide end-to-end technical leadership across two Alpha workstreams:

  • Early intervention and triage tools

  • Minimum viable dispute resolution service

You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams—including policy, product, design, and research—to assess feasibility, shape integration architecture, and help define a scalable service model.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design the technical architecture for both Alpha workstreams, ensuring alignment with service design goals.

  • Collaborate with government stakeholders and delivery partners to define integration points and data flows.

  • Evaluate and recommend the use of existing government tools (e.g. common components) versus bespoke or third-party solutions.

  • Define APIs, data models, and system components; identify and document technical risks and dependencies.

  • Provide expert input into prototyping, feasibility testing, and future-state planning.

  • Ensure all designs meet government standards for privacy, security, accessibility, and resilience.

  • Support Beta planning by advising on operational readiness, technical transition, and scalability considerations.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrable experience as a Technical Architect on public sector digital services.

  • Strong knowledge of API design, system integration, and case management platforms.

  • Familiarity with GOV.UK service design and technology standards.

  • Experience working in Agile, multidisciplinary teams during early-phase service design (Discovery/Alpha).

  • Understanding of public sector data governance, privacy, and authentication requirements.

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable service architecture.

Desirable
  • Previous experience working with housing, justice, or local authority systems.

  • Exposure to dispute resolution, triage, or complaints-handling platforms.
