We are currently seeking a Senior Database Administrator (Microsoft SQL Server) to oversee our database management systems and ensure optimal performance and security. This role is essential for supporting our software applications and facilitating effective data management practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Management: Administer and optimize our Microsoft SQL Server databases, ensuring their availability, integrity, and security.
  • Tuning & Optimization: Monitor database performance and implement performance tuning measures to ensure minimal downtime and maximize efficiency.
  • Backup & Recovery: Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies to protect critical data against loss.
  • Data Security: Establish and enforce standards for database security, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, network engineers, and system administrators to support database-related projects and initiatives.
  • Mentorship: Guide junior database staff and provide training on best practices in database management.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on Microsoft SQL Server.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and database design.
  • Proficient in backup and recovery, replication, and high-availability solutions.

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
