Key responsibilities:

  • Document project information clearly and communicate any issues to the Project Manager or Director promptly.

If you are a Facility Assessor and believe in Building Relationships Based on Trust and Results - we need you! Position is located in any of K2M's office locations, or fully remote for the right candidate.


Position Overview:

Be a strong part of the project team. Use your expertise to provide first class deliverables for the project team, and mentor others when the opportunity presents itself. Individual with personal responsibility for a variety of projects, including scheduling and budgeting. Responsible for work on substantial, continuing service accounts. Strictly follows procedures and techniques developed to be used on projects. Responsible for writing reports, cost estimates, coordinating the preparation of engineering plans, reviewing completed plans and specifications. Ensures that the entire project team is aware of any deficiencies or potential problems that may occur.


Responsibilities (subject to change, modification as needed) are as follows, but not limited to:

  • Maintain secure business partnerships / relationships with key clients, consultants, groups, organizations, and teams.
  • Bring a positive attitude into the office and represent K2M Design in an upbeat and professional manner while on site in a client’s facility.
  • Identify systems and procedures to improve the quality and efficiency of the department and its projects. Bring any improvements to the K2M Project Manager for review and possible implementation.
  • Review and have a thorough understanding of condition assessment practices and procedures.
  • Review project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  • Manages and executes multiple projects at any one time.
  • Minimal drafting work as required on projects in order to meet client expectations.
  • Communicates with assigned K2M management executive or other designee relative to project status and performance.
  • Regular clear, concise, and appropriate communication with consultants, staff, and Directors of Company is essential.
  • Clearly document pertinent project information in a timely manner and copy all involved parties on items such as trip reports, phone conversations, meeting minutes, etc.
  • Communicate comments or concerns to Project Manager in a timely manner in regard to conflicts in schedule, workload issues, conflicts in personal schedule.
  • Communicate comments or concerns to Director in a timely manner in regard to conflicts, office
  • policies, culture issues, or Project Manager’s method of management.
  • Utilize corporate Forms and Templates to communicate with consultants, and contractors.

Travel:

  • Available for travel as needed to different locations and varying periods of time as needed on a project basis for site surveys, consultant coordination, construction administration, etc.
  • At times, travel will be required over a weekend or part of a weekend in order to start promptly on a Monday morning.
  • 25-40% of work time is reserved for traveling.



Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years related work experience in construction, project management, or facility management.
  • Ability to quickly identify systems, code issues, and provide potential resolutions to remediate the issue.
  • Individual must be able to identify different Architectural elements and MEP systems outside of the specialized trade. These include structural elements, HVAC, Refrigeration, Electrical, etc.
  • Must be knowledgeable with standard business software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Strong Excel proficiency, a must 
  • Aptitude to learn new programs.
