Yellow Brick Games is looking for a highly skilled and innovative Lead Creature Artist to join our game development team. The ideal candidate will thrive at the intersection of artistry, technical skill, and collaboration, and will guide the Creature team to create stunning, realistic enemies that contribute to an incredible gameplay experience.

Responsibilities
- Mentoring, and reviewing the work of Creature artists, providing feedback to ensure consistency and quality.
- Drive innovation by identifying and resolving challenges related to Creatures and their gameplay implications, while communicating effectively across disciplines to bridge creative, technical, and combat perspectives.
- Ownership of the creation pipeline and best modeling practices for the Creature team.
- Collaborating with the Art Director, Game Designers and Concept Artists to develop Creatures that align with the project’s aesthetic, gameplay and narrative.
- Directly contributing to the creation of high-quality 3D creature assets, including modeling, texturing and pushing the visual and technical quality of the project to the next level.
- Overseeing the production roadmap of the Creature team, with the help of Project Managers, to ensure a healthy timeline and scope.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Lead or Senior Character Artist in the video game industry, with at least one shipped title.
- Expert knowledge in 3D modeling software (e.g: Maya (preferable), 3dsMax, Blender), sculpting software (e.g: Zbrush) and texturing softwares (e.g: Photoshop, Substance Painter).
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a mastery of realistic characters with hard surface and organic modeling.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail and technical constraints (such as rigging, gameplay limitations, and optimization).
- Passionate about innovation, artistic expression, and creating unforgettable gameplay experiences.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Outsourcing/Freelance: giving feedback to artists and integrating and/or following up on the integration of assets.
- Preference, but not requirement, for working within the Eastern Standard (EST) time zone.
- Experience with Jira and/or Hansoft
