Job description

Thoughtworks builds technology that matters. As Regional Chief Architect – Cloud and Partner Ecosystem, you will be the technical leader responsible for advancing our offering-led ecosystem strategy while delivering high-impact solutions to clients. You will act as the primary technical point of contact for Google Cloud, ensuring technical alignment, and offering integration. 

This role demands a blend of deep technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership, guiding customers and internal teams through complex transformations rooted in cloud & AI technologies. Your leadership will directly impact both sales and delivery efforts. Success in this role will be measured by the trust and confidence you build with our customers, in the solutions, and guidance you provide.

As a leader in an engineering-first organization, you will be actively engaged in customer-facing initiatives, focusing on technical pre-sales, solution design, and advisory services. Additionally, you may have management responsibilities, mentoring and developing solution architects and engineers within the organization and the broader SA ecosystem.

Job Responsibilities
  • Primary Technical Liaison – Serve as the lead technical interface for our AWS relationship.
  • Offering Integration – Act as the primary partner liaison for a specific service line, ensuring alignment between offerings and partner capabilities.
  • Technical Solution Leadership – Lead and deliver solution architecture, technical pre-sales, cloud strategy engagements, and proofs of concept/demos of applicable technologies.
  • Vision & Strategy – Define and drive the technical vision for offerings mapped to cloud and partner solutions.
  • Mentorship & Leadership – Lead and mentor Solution Architects and technical teams, fostering talent development.
  • Thought Leadership – Develop and contribute to whitepapers, blogs, conference presentations, and other industry-facing content.
  • Accelerators & Industry Solutions – Drive the creation of reusable architectures, accelerators, and industry-aligned solutions.
  • Sales Contribution – Partner with sales to influence $10M–$20M in annual revenue through pre-sales, solution design, and advisory services.
  • Billable Utilization – Maintain billable utilization with a focus on fixed-fee pre-sales engagements that aligns with target salary expectations, ensuring organizational sustainability.
  • Go-To-Market Strategy – Influence and contribute to Thoughtworks' offering-led go-to-market strategy in alignment with cloud and partner ecosystems.
  • Standards & Compliance – Ensure reference architectures, and best practices are followed in strategic partner-aligned projects.
  • Technology Adoption – Drive the adoption of emerging cloud, AI, and engineering methodologies for clients and internal teams.
Technical Skills
  • Deep expertise in AWS architectures. Foundational knowledge in one or more cloud/partner architectures: GCP, Azure, Databricks, &/or NVIDIA.
  • Experience designing large-scale distributed systems, with a specialization aligned with one or more of our core offerings: AI-driven UX, Product Innovation, Data Modernization, AI Readiness, Engineering Excellence, Enterprise Platform Modernization,  or Digital Application Management & Ops.
  • Proficiency in DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Bicep, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of post-development processes, including operations, security, compliance, and governance.
  • Experience with partner-aligned architectures, cloud marketplaces, and third-party solution integration.
  • Expertise in AI/ML, data engineering, and analytics-driven solutions.
  • Strong foundation in API and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud strategies.
  • Ability to deliver proof of concepts and technical demos aligned to one or more of the core offerings.
Professional Skills
  • Ideally has past leadership experience as an employee of AWS.
  • May also consider candidates with an exceptional background and experience leading an SA team.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-impact initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong negotiation and influence skills with partners and customers.
  • Ability to create compelling solution narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience leading enterprise transformations, with proven pre-sales success leading to multiple $MM+ projects. 
  • Proven ability to cross-sell across multiple offerings, maximizing revenue impact.
