WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB:
The Director serves as Product Owner for the Fundraising Salesforce Sales Cloud solution. American Red Cross Fundraisers use the system to manage organizational and individual donor relationships across a range of channels. The solution enables account planning and forecasting, business development, cadences, donor research and insight, engagement and activity management, stewardship, coaching, automation, collaboration, and in-kind management.
The Product Owner will leverage their fundraising and/or sales functional experience along with deep expertise in Salesforce Sales Cloud product design and capability to enable our mission outcome of leveraging the generosity of donors to provide capacity for our humanitarian mission. The role partners closely with technology and business teams, as one matrixed product team, to ensure the solution enables mission outcomes. This is a hands-on player/coach leadership role.
The work location for this exciting opportunity is virtual. The selected candidate will work 100% remotely from home and can be located anywhere in the United States with a preference to work East Coast hours.
Standard work hours are 8am EST – 5pm EST Monday – Friday.
WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):
• Team Leadership: Lead a small product team, comprised of a Product Manager, Product Designer, and Business Analyst. Promote ongoing professional development and team engagement.
• Product Vision, Strategy & Roadmap: Develop a clear product vision and strategy and maintain a product roadmap for Sales Cloud enhancements focused on non-profit fundraising. Align product strategy with organizational goals and mission needs.
• Facilitate Discovery & Design Workshops: Engage stakeholders to discover the actual problem to be solved and prototype to build the right solution.
• User Experience: Ensure an intuitive user experience for users by leveraging human-centered design methods (e.g. personas, journey mapping, service blueprinting), design systems and in-app guidance.
• Feature Development & User Stories: Lead development of user stories and acceptance criteria to guide the development team in building features that meet user needs.
• Backlog Management, Sprint Planning and Review: Lead sprint planning sessions, review progress, and adjust priorities as needed to ensure timely delivery of high-quality features.
• Data Management: Oversee data integration and management processes to ensure accurate and efficient tracking of fundraising activities and donor insight from all ARC business units.
• Innovation & Market Analysis: Leverage industry best practices and emerging technologies (e.g. Advanced AI) to continuously improve our product capabilities and mission outcomes.
• Product Health & Performance Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of product enhancements and make data-driven decisions.
Scope: people manager that interprets and administers policies, process, and procedures that may affect sections and subordinate units.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications):
Education: 4-year college degree in business administration, information systems, computer science, data analytics, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Minimum 7 years required in roles related to a combination of sales and/or fundraising experience mixed with business application or digital product development and/or management.
Management Experience: Minimum 5 years of staff management and leading product and/or application design and/or development.
Skills & Abilities:
Required:
• Product management: leading collaboration with business stakeholders and engineers to enable effective product design, development, innovation
• Fundraising and/or Sales, or Sales Operations with large accounts
• Proficiency with human-centered design methods for product design such as user experience research, journey mapping, personas, service blueprinting
• Using agile development methods (e.g. design and development sprints) and platforms (e.g. Jira)
• Coaching and developing inclusive teams to continuously learn and perform effectively
• Salesforce Sales Cloud or Non profit Cloud product management experience required.
• A current, valid driver's license is required.
WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (preferred qualifications):
• Salesforce certification such as Administrator, Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud, and/or Data Cloud
• Proficiency with design collaboration tools (e.g. Lucid, Mural, etc) and product analytics or digital adoption tools (e.g. Heap, WalkMe, etc.)
• Proficiency with Apex, Lightning Components, Apex
• Experience in a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment.
• Proficiency in analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Researching external market trends for design inspiration and strategy development
