Your Role
A Payroll Clerk 1 is tasked with carrying out essential administrative duties daily to ensure accurate and timely employee payments. Key responsibilities include auditing timesheets, entering data for payroll processing, preparing payroll reports, and swiftly resolving any issues that arise. Furthermore, a Payroll Clerk investigates discrepancies, manages email communications, and provides support via the payroll hotline.
Audit and/or enter daily timesheet submittals into multiple timekeeping systems:
Recoverytrac (TV3)
Tetra Linx (TL)
Maintain steady productivity levels to ensure daily metrics are met.
Review all emails to keep up with policy updates and schedule changes.
Email daily excels reports and take immediate action when responses are received.
Follow-up on outstanding issues and discrepancies by escalating to the Payroll Leads.
Actively participate in team chat and daily team calls.
Answering the Payroll Hotline as needed.
Assist employees with online changes to taxes and direct deposit in ADP.
Adhere to the scheduled work time and work location provided by Management.
Cross-train within the Finance department as needed.
Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
Additional duties as required.
Qualifications
At least one year of college education.
1 - 2 years of previous or related experience.
Experience with Microsoft suite (outlook, Excel, PP)
Proficient Excel - Excel proficiency includes being adept at data analysis with tools like pivot tables and charts and be able to derive useful insights from their data sets and have the capacity to manage complex data sets, do calculations fast, and present info in a clear way.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented.
Flexible, able to immediately adapt to changing priorities.
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Facilitating payroll audits by preparing and presenting accurate Excel-based documentation.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in payroll calculations and reporting.
Must be available to work BOTH weekend days – day shift and days off will include 2 weekdays.
Work attentively with minimal supervision.
