Position Summary
The Oncology Clinical Educator (OCE) will support the commercialization for imetelstat in Lower Risk Myelodysplastic syndrome. The OCE is responsible for delivering on-label presentations to Healthcare Professional (HCPs), such as oncology nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and may include community oncologists/hematologist oncologists, to ensure their practices are well informed to support successful imetelstat administration and management.
This position is remote with a corporate headquarters in Foster City, CA and Parsippany, NJ. The OCE will report to the Senior Director, Regional Marketing.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide clinical education on PI-based and disease state education to HCP offices/staff
- Develop and maintain relationships with appropriate HCPs within a given territory to educate on imetelstat administration and management
- Teach key external stakeholders (infusion nurses, pharmacists, etc.) on reconstitution process
- Maintain a pulse on regional LR MDS trends and closely coordinates regional needs-based education and engagement plans with cross functional partners to ensure customer engagement strategies are aligned to brand strategic imperatives
- Utilize strategic questioning and actively listen to routinely share insights from customer engagements
- Analyze account dynamics to gain deep understanding of customer educational objectives and customer challenges to shape local education strategy and build educational accounts plans
- Compliantly collaborate with field-based Medical personnel and cross-functional field-based Commercial colleagues
Competencies
- Possess a thorough understanding of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and PhRMA Code to ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines and SOPs
- Ability to identify, engage, and educate appropriate nursing, APP, and HCPs

- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and virtual engagement platforms

- Significant travel may be required, up to 75% travel, based on business needs
- Ability to meet credentialing requirements for access to healthcare institutions, medical facilities, and organizations that are in the assigned geography. These credentialing requirements may include, but are not limited to, background checks, drug screens, and proof of required immunization and/or vaccinations
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory MVR record
- Must live in territory; residing near major airport preferred
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or life sciences, or related required; advanced degree preferred (NP, PA, MSN, DNP, PharmD, MBA, etc.)
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience
- 5+ years of relevant pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience, 3+ years clinical practice experience in malignant hematology/oncology preferred
- Experience with developing and executing marketing strategies and tactics, and interactions with field-based teams
- Existing hematology/oncology customer relationships required, MDS specific relationships preferred
- Prior oncology product launch experience required, injectable and/or infusion experience a plus

Salary Statement:
Offered compensation is determined based on market data, internal equity, and an applicant’s relevant skills, experience, and educational background. The salary ranges displayed below are only for those who, if selected for the role, will perform work in the specific locations listed. Please note the employment opportunity is not limited to these locations.
General Salary Range: $195,000 - $210,000
