Job Description

Day Translations is looking for an Interpreting Operations Manager to join our team. This person will be responsible for the execution of all interpreting projects performed for clients, including the management of databases and processes, quality and timeliness of deliveries, effective and efficient allocation of resources, and cost effectiveness and profitability of the services. The Interpreting Operations Manager will be under the direct supervision of our Chief Operations Officer.

 

Responsibilities

  • Effectively supervise project managers and other operations roles, who are responsible for interacting with project stakeholders and delivering on-time, high-quality quality and cost-effective assets
  • Responsible for overall interpreting operations, including processes and optimizations within teams
  • Ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and efficient projects.
  • Maintains a tracking system for recording metrics to ensure that the performance meets the client's expectations.
  • Help identify strengths and weaknesses of the Operations Department by the ongoing measurement of key performance and production indicators.
  • Identify and predict obstacles and risks to projects and seek solutions to eliminate them.
  • Ensure clear and pertinent communication across the interpreting team, other Operations divisions, and other departments, including providing visibility into large projects and progress against our team goals

Requirements

  • +5 years of experience working at the management level in the Interpreting industry
  • Deep knowledge of the industry, its evolving needs, technology and process
  • Knowledge of interpreting tools and AI implementation
  • Proven ability to manage a team’s operating budget and make strategic decisions to reduce costs over time
  • Experience establishing systems, supporting teams, and fostering relationships
  • Proven skills and experience in mediation, negotiation, presentation, and conflict resolution
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience interacting with senior leadership
  • Comfortable with ambiguity in a fluid organization
  • Fluency in English and a secondary language is a must; additional languages welcome!
