Overview: The MAT Prescriber works with the Chief Medical Director on the ongoing improvement of clinical quality of MAT services at PursueCare.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties:
- Conduct outpatient telehealth/telemedicine clinical care, medication management, prescribing and treatment sessions for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and co-occurring behavioral disorders/issues using Company tele-video, electronic health record ("EHR"), messaging, technology and systems;
- Perform assessments of patients with SUD and/or co-occurring behavioral health disorders and issues, and establish treatment plans and case conferencing for on-going care;
- Perform testing and assessments using Company tele-video technology, EHR, messaging and electronic assessments;
- Provide a full-range of supportive SUD and behavioral treatment services including ordering labs and toxicology screening, checking prescription drug monitoring databases, initial assessments, medical health management planning, group services, follow-up consultations to support and promote patient harm reduction, lasting recovery, and continuity of care.
- Collaborate with Company care coordination and operation staff as well as partnering providers that share patients with Company;
- Consult with and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members treating and managing patient's care;
- Complete patient session documentation and notes in Company EHR system, including but not limited to e-prescribing, lab orders, recording H&P and diagnostic results, screening results, medical history, narrative session notes, treatment plans, and all other documentation necessary to support billed CPT codes;
- Assist in assessing crisis and crisis intervention treatment, including intervening as an advocate for patients to resolve emergency problems in a crisis scenario, providing relevant information to other providers, patient and/or family member(s) about SUD and resources available, and making appropriate referrals for other forms of treatment when necessary; and
- Conduct treatment from a quiet, private and professional location such as a home or office space that is free from distraction and promotes patient privacy.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Maintain a valid unrestricted license to practice their profession in the State(s) agreed to at hire, and other states as directed by PursueCare from time-to-time during the term of this Agreement.
- At least 1 year clinical experience in MAT required
- Willingness to cross license in other states
- 1+ years experience in telehealth
Qualifications & Key Competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Superb judgment, problem-solving, and cognitive skills
- Experience working with targeted population and knowledge of related issues
