We are hiring a skilled and reliable Out-Patient Medical Coder to ensure accurate and compliant coding of outpatient medical records. This role involves reviewing clinical documentation and applying appropriate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes across a variety of outpatient settings and specialties. The successful candidate will demonstrate solid coding expertise, a strong understanding of outpatient billing guidelines, and the ability to work across diverse clinical documentation sources.

Key Responsibilities:

Review outpatient medical records and documentation to assign accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes.
Ensure coding meets official guidelines, payer-specific rules, and client documentation standards.
Identify documentation gaps or discrepancies and coordinate with internal teams for clarification when needed.
Maintain coding accuracy and productivity benchmarks based on organizational expectations.
Stay updated on the latest outpatient coding standards, payer regulations, and compliance requirements.
Participate in regular audits, quality assurance processes, and training sessions.
Use electronic health records (EHR) systems and coding platforms efficiently while maintaining confidentiality and data security.

Qualifications:

Associates or Bachelors degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of outpatient coding experience, preferably across multiple specialties or facility types.

Familiarity with outpatient billing processes, modifiers, and payer-specific coding requirements.
Experience using EHR systems and encoder software (e.g., 3M, Optum).
Knowledge of HIPAA and data privacy standards.
