What You’ll Be Doing:
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Partnership – Technology and Product:
- Serve as the primary FP&A point of contact for Evolent’s Product and Technology teams, building strong relationships with business leaders and supporting their financial needs.
- Lead monthly financial reviews, providing actionable insights on budget performance, resource allocation, and investment outcomes.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across Finance, Accounting, Talent, and Product Management to align financial planning with business priorities and product roadmaps.
- Evaluate and support capitalization of software development costs in alignment with accounting standards and financial best practices.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Own the forecasting and budgeting process for Product and Technology, including detailed analysis of headcount, project-based spend, and capital investments.
- Build and maintain scalable financial models to evaluate new product investments, technology infrastructure initiatives, and vendor contracts.
- Provide scenario modeling and sensitivity analyses to support leadership decisions around build vs. buy, vendor selection, and cost optimization.
Reporting and Systems:
- Create and automate financial reporting tools tailored to the needs of the Product and Technology organizations.
- Enhance Adaptive Insights and Workday functionality for improved reporting, planning, and process automation.
- Ensure accurate tracking of project codes, capitalization codes, and cost centers across all technology initiatives.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Present financial updates and recommendations to the executive leadership team, including the CPO and CTO.
- Translate complex financial data into strategic insights that guide product development and technology investments.
- Champion a culture of financial discipline, transparency, and innovation across Product and Technology teams.
The Experience We Prefer:
- Chartered Accountant/CPA or master’s degree in business finance.
- 8-10 years of experience in corporate finance (FP&A), investment banking, or other Finance role. Big 4 experience is preferred.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Customer service focused with excellent analytical skills, interpersonal skills and executive presence required.
- Ability to balance multiple projects and adapt to new issues/assignments as business needs change.
- Extraordinarily detail-oriented and focus on accuracy.
- Exceptionally strong analytical abilities, with a track record of identifying insights from financial information and translating into business analytics and recommendations.
- Experience with Adaptive Insights or other reporting tools like Power BI / Tableau.
