🌍 Country Manager Switzerland

đź“Ť Location: Remote within Switzerland

đź—“ Start date: as soon as possible

đź’Ľ Workload: 80-100%

About Street Child Switzerland:

Street Child Switzerland is part of the international Street Child network, committed to ensuring every child has access to education in safe and supportive environments. We focus on empowering local partners and communities in some of the world’s most vulnerable settings. Our Swiss team is small, mission-driven, and works collaboratively across borders.

The Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated and hands-on Country Manager Switzerland to lead the operations and future development of Street Child Switzerland. Reporting directly to the Board and collaborating closely with our fundraising hubs in Barcelona and London, the Country Manager Switzerland will oversee all aspects of the organization’s functioning — from fundraising and partnerships to day-to-day operations and compliance.

This is a key opportunity for a dynamic professional who is ready to grow with the organization and help scale its impact in Switzerland and ultimately in our project countries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent and grow Street Child Switzerland as a trusted and impactful non-profit organization
  • Develop and implement the Swiss fundraising strategy in collaboration with the Board and aligned to our global fundraising strategy, with a focus on Swiss trusts and foundations
  • Lead grant applications and ensure accountability and reporting to Swiss funding partners
  • Grow and manage our small Swiss fundraising team
  • Oversee daily operations, including finance, administration, HR, and compliance (with support from external fiduciaries and legal partners)
  • Act as the main liaison between the Swiss entity and the international Street Child network
  • Support governance processes and work closely with the Board on strategy, risk, and reporting
  • Drive visibility, partnerships, and future growth opportunities in Switzerland

Your Profile:

  • Residence in Switzerland is required
  • Passionate identification with the values and goals of Street Child
  • Native in at least 1 national language (German, French, Italian) and fluent in German and English at least negotiation level (written and spoken). Any other language a plus, but not a must.
  • Prior experience in Swiss fundraising with foundations, philanthropists and corporates and a good understanding of the local donor landscape
  • Experience in the non-profit sector or in managing a start-up organization or project, and drive growth.
  • Ability to build a team and experience in leading teams to successful outcomes within a remote setup
  • Independent and solution-oriented, with a hands-on and flexible attitude
  • Comfortable working in a small structure and excited about the opportunity to grow the operations over time
  • Familiarity with Swiss non-profit law, governance, or association management is a plus

What We Offer:

  • A meaningful and autonomous role in a globally recognized organization
  • Flexibility to work remotely, with occasional in-person meetings in Switzerland
  • The chance to help shape the structure and growth of Street Child Switzerland
  • A committed and experienced board, and access to a vibrant international network

Diversity and Inclusion:

Street Child Switzerland is committed to building a diverse and inclusive organization. We welcome applications from all qualified individuals regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, disability status, or background.
