The Opportunity

Avidity is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our growing Global Market Access team. The ideal candidate will build global market access strategies for Avidity’s rare disease portfolio that support Avidity’s late stage and pipeline development programs, commercialization strategy and long-term business goals. 

 

What You Will Contribute

The Senior Director, Global Market Access is accountable for overseeing the development and execution of market access and reimbursement strategies for Avidity’s rare disease portfolio to support sustainable patient access. Reporting to the Vice President, Global Market Access, this position requires significant collaboration across multiple functions including, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Commercial Operations, Finance, Patient Services, Clinical Development, and local business partners. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead development of Global Evidence, Value and Access Strategies to support patient access via development of meaningful and impactful market access resources.
  • Identify potential key issues and implement payer/policy research to understand the access landscape, evidence requirements and pricing implications; define requirements to support patient access.
  • Partner internally to align target product profiles, indications, populations and commercial strategy to support patient access aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop access scenarios in partnership with commercial to support evidence decision-making trade-offs.
  • Partner cross-functionally to develop robust payer value narratives, product value propositions, and supporting evidence.
  • Initiate early-payer engagements for input on development plans and evidence requirements with support from cross-functional partners.
  • Develop innovative access strategies to allow for optimized patient access in line with business goals; set global pricing policy for implementation.
  • Design, develop, and implement market access toolkits in support of local business partner launches, including Global Value Dossiers, objection handlers, pricing, and negotiation strategies.
  •  Facilitate strong working relationships and partnerships across the matrix to support access requirements.
  • Identify market access stakeholders and facilitate customer engagements in collaboration with commercial and medical affairs.
  • Provide input into early pipeline discussions on unmet need, provide directional pricing estimates and access scenarios to support business assessments.
  • Support pricing and reimbursement submissions globally.

What We Seek

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Masters/PhD/PharmD preferred.
  • 12+ years of relevant global biopharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of global payer environment, including coverage, coding and reimbursement, pricing and contracting, formulary management, HTA and payer policy.
  • Successful track record in global pricing and reimbursement negotiations and HTA agencies.
  • Experience developing global value and access strategies, including developing global value messages, dossier, and tools to support launch implementation in key markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and make sound pricing and market access recommendations.
  • Strong presentation, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to partner across the matrix.
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed, up to 50% of the time.

What We Will Provide To You

  • The base salary range for this role is $275,500 - $305,000 The final compensation will be commensurate with such factors as relevant experience, skillset, internal equity and market factors.
