Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Sales Trainer & Strategist to develop, implement, and deliver effective sales training programs while also driving strategic sales initiatives for a global clinical research organization. This role is crucial in ensuring our commercial teams have the necessary skills, knowledge, and tools to succeed in a competitive, fast-paced, and highly regulated industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales training, instructional design, and coaching, combined with expertise in strategic planning and sales enablement within a healthcare or life sciences environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive sales training programs tailored to the needs of global commercial teams in the clinical research industry.

  • Facilitate engaging and effective training sessions using various delivery methods, including in-person workshops, virtual training, e-learning, and on-the-job coaching.

  • Assess and analyze training needs through collaboration with global sales leadership, regional teams, performance data, and industry trends.

  • Develop and update training materials to ensure compliance with industry regulations and alignment with business goals, therapeutic areas, and customer expectations.

  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, performance metrics, and continuous learning assessments.

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to sales representatives across regions to reinforce training and enhance sales capabilities.

  • Collaborate closely with global sales, marketing, operations, and medical affairs to ensure training and strategic initiatives support cross-functional objectives.

  • Drive global alignment of sales strategies, messaging, and positioning to ensure consistency and impact across markets.

  • Analyze market dynamics, competitor intelligence, and client feedback to inform sales strategy and training needs.

  • Support strategic planning efforts including segmentation, targeting, and go-to-market execution across different geographies.

  • Develop playbooks and sales tools that reflect complex, consultative selling processes relevant to clinical trials and pharmaceutical clients.

  • Champion a culture of continuous learning, agility, and innovation within the global commercial organization.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).

  • Experience in sales training, sales strategy, or commercial excellence roles within a global clinical research organization or life sciences company.

  • Proven track record of success in a sales or sales leadership role.

  • Strong understanding of the clinical trials ecosystem, biopharmaceutical industry, and regulatory landscape.

  • Exceptional facilitation, coaching, and communication skills with a global and multicultural mindset.

  • Experience with instructional design and adult learning principles.

  • Ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights to enhance sales effectiveness.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.

  • High level of energy, enthusiasm, and passion for sales development and strategy.
