Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic ABAP Lead Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading SAP ABAP development activities and ensuring the effective implementation of ABAP-based solutions within our SAP landscape. You will work closely with functional consultants, business users, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions tailored to the specific needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the ABAP development team in the design, development, and implementation of SAP solutions, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
Collaborate with functional consultants, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Develop, test, and optimize custom SAP ABAP reports, interfaces (Odata, IDocs, Proxies), CDS views, AMDPs, enhancements, and workflows.
Mentor and guide junior ABAP developers, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and SAP methodologies.
Review and analyze existing ABAP code, identifying areas for improvement in terms of performance, maintainability, and scalability.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within the SAP environment, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Ensure seamless integration between SAP systems and third-party applications through custom ABAP solutions.
Work with project managers to manage scope, timelines, and deliverables for ABAP development tasks.
Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, user guides, and test cases, for new developments and enhancements.
Stay up to date with the latest SAP technologies and trends, ensuring the team is leveraging the most efficient tools and techniques.
Travel up to 80% required based on client needs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior position.
Strong experience with SAP modules such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP CRM, or SAP SCM.
Proficiency in ABAP programming, including expertise in ALV reports, custom Adobe forms, BAPI, user exits, BADIs, enhancements, interfaces (Odata, IDocs, Proxies), CDS views and AMDPs.
Experience with SAP Fiori, SAP UI5, and/or SAP HANA development is a plus.
Solid understanding of SAP integration tools such as SAP PI/PO or CPI.
Experience with troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimizing ABAP programs.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience guiding and mentoring junior developers.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities within deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
SAP certification in ABAP or relevant SAP modules.
Experience in Agile/Scrum project methodologies.
Familiarity with SAP Cloud Platform, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP integration solutions.
Experience with custom developments and enhancements in an SAP HANA environment.
