Job description

Job Description:

The National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst II to join our finance team. This role will be responsible for supporting various financial operations, including invoicing, expense management, budgeting, financial reporting, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. NIPR’s office is in Kansas City, Missouri.  This is a full-time position which will allow a person to work remotely within the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Invoicing & Expense Management
    • Manage and input invoicing accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Review and approve expense reports, ensuring proper coding to the General Ledger (GL) and cost centers.
    • Update and reconcile expense budget line items to align with actual expenditures for comparison analysis.
    • Work with accounts payable and accounts receivable teams to monitor outstanding invoices and resolve discrepancies.

  • Capital Expenditures, Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Assist in maintaining and updating the Capital Expenditures (CapEx) spreadsheet.
    • Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results with budgeted expectations.
    • Assist in preparing financial forecasts to support strategic planning and decision-making.

  • Financial Analysis, Data Integrity & Reporting
    • Analyze revenue trends to identify opportunities for financial improvement.
    • Ensure accurate and timely entry of financial data into accounting and financial systems, maintaining data integrity.
    • Assist in preparing financial reports for monthly financial statements and management reviews.
    • Support the financial manager with various finance projects and ad hoc analysis.

  • Month-End, P&L Review & Compliance
    • Assist in reviewing and answering revenue and expense questions during monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) meetings.
    • Ensure all financial data is accurate and aligned with company objectives.
    • Assist with financial audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.

  • Process Improvement & Financial Controls
    • Identify areas for process improvement and recommend enhancements to financial workflows.
    • Support the implementation of financial controls to ensure compliance with internal policies.

  • Collaboration with Other Departments
    • Act as a liaison between finance and other departments to support financial decision-making.
    • Provide financial insights and reporting to department heads as needed.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, etc.
  • Establish professional relationships with key NIPR and NAIC personnel.

Education and/or experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Finance, Accounting, Economics, preferred.
  • Three to five years’ experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related role required.
  • Intermediate level of expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, including, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.

Preferred Experience

One or more years using a CRM.

Travel

Expected to travel up to 15% in this role which includes traveling to internal events, training, seminars, and trade shows.

Compensation

Salary range $90,000 – $110,000, commensurate with experience and education.
