Role Description:  

As a key member of our Category Management & Merchandising team, you will be responsible for executing the strategy for your assigned categories, managing vendor relationships, optimizing product assortments, and driving sales and profitability. You will work cross-functionally with Site Merchandising, Marketing and Sales, and Operations to ensure that the customer experience is seamless from browsing to purchase while maximizing BBQGuys.com profitability. You will be a product and market expert in your assigned categories. This role has elements of analytics, new business development and relationship management, with the potential to become a people manager as well. What You’ll Do:  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and take actions to improve existing sales and profitability of assigned products and vendors.
  • Propose opportunities for assortment expansion through new categories, new brands and/or new vendor relationships.
  • Partner with Operations to manage inventory levels and reduce distressed inventory.
  • Develop an overall category strategy and plan to increase and facilitate growth year over year driven by deadlines.

  • Strong grasp of business fundamentals such as P&L management and exposure to e-commerce metrics such as conversion rate.
  • Advanced computer skills that include use of Excel, PowerBI, Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn internal programs.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and provide solutions.
  • Precise attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and is a cooperative, dedicated team player.

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least 3-years' experience in a category, marketing or business development role.
  • Experience in retail, preferably e-commerce.
  • Advance computer software skills with Excel, Word, or related products.
