Position: HVAC/Refrigeration Technician

Scope of Responsibility:
As an HVAC/Refrigeration Technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our commercial clients. Your duties will include the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, cooling, refrigeration, and ventilation systems. This is a hands-on role with a focus on ensuring the comfort and safety of our customers through high-quality service and expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Consultation & Needs Assessment: Travel to businesses on a daily basis to consult with customers, assess their HVAC needs, and provide customized solutions.
- System Installation & Maintenance: Install new heating, cooling, refrigeration, and ventilation systems as needed. Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to increase their longevity and efficiency.
- Inspection & Troubleshooting: Inspect HVAC systems for effectiveness and safety, troubleshoot issues, and provide necessary repairs to damaged systems.
- Performance Testing: Conduct performance tests using specialized tools to ensure systems are operating at optimal levels.
- Record-Keeping & Documentation: Keep accurate records of customer appointments, payment transactions, and invoices. Maintain inventory of all HVAC equipment and resources.
- Customer Service: Provide clear and understandable explanations of HVAC issues to customers, addressing any concerns they may have.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in HVAC and refrigeration systems (preferred).
- Certifications:
- Certification through the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to handle refrigerants (required).
- Certification or an associate degree from an HVAC program at a technical school (required).
- Training: Previous on-the-job training is a plus.
- Skills: Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex HVAC issues to customers in a simple, understandable way.
- Problem Solving: Critical thinker and effective problem solver.
- Driver’s License: Must hold a valid state driver’s license.
- Punctuality: Must be punctual and adhere to a daily schedule with multiple appointments at different locations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, carry, bend, kneel, reach, push, and pull regularly.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of climbing ladders and working at high elevations.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
