Job description

Across the United States, 6 in 10 adults – or 133 million Americans, live with one or more chronic conditions. Chronic disease is today’s leading cause of death and disability in the US and the leading driver of the nation’s $4.1 trillion in annual healthcare costs. Patients who live with chronic conditions require far more touch points than our primary care physicians have time to deliver and the result is countless health emergencies and costly ER visits that could be prevented. Workforce shortages and lack of technologies make it difficult to give patients the attention they need.

At Cadence, our mission is to deliver life-changing care to over one million patients living with chronic disease by the end of the decade. We mitigate the impact of chronic disease by using technology and a world-class clinical team to remotely monitor, manage, and support patients at home. Together with our growing network of health system partners, we deliver guideline-directed care to tens of thousands of patients today while producing best-in-class clinical outcomes.

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join our growing engineering team. You will lead and inspire a team of talented engineers, ensuring they have the support and guidance needed to build and maintain Cadence's remote patient monitoring platform.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of both frontend and backend services for the Cadence platform.
  • Drive the improvement of engineering standards, tooling, and processes to enhance team productivity and product quality.
  • Collaborate with product owners, internal stakeholders, and customers to deliver solutions that meet user needs and business objectives.
  • Ensure projects are well-architected and deliver high-quality, maintainable, and scalable software.
  • Actively participate in strategic planning, helping to shape the technical direction and vision of the engineering team.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven ability to thrive in an environment founded on trust, autonomy, and direct communication & feedback.
  • Passion for owning and solving problems end-to-end, with a strong sense of accountability.
  • A proven track record of managing complex projects and experience interfacing directly with customers.
  • Experience in managing engineering teams in a fast-paced and iterative development environment.
  • Deep understanding of backend development (Go experience is a big plus).
  • Experience working with cloud environments such as AWS or Google Cloud, familiarity with relational databases like Postgres or MySQL, and services that use queuing technologies such as SQS and Kafka.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with team members, stakeholders, and customers.

WHO WE ARE:

The work we do at Cadence each day changes lives and as such, the stakes and the pace are high. Our fully remote work environment values autonomy, curiosity, and experimentation. In return, we provide competitive total compensation packages with meaningful equity in one of the fastest growing healthtech companies in the US. If you're ready to make a difference and drive positive change, we invite you to join us at Cadence.
