Underwriting Assistant

Join Our Team  

You will be the Undwriting Assistant. You will report to the Global Head of Casualty Underwriting .

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • As the Underwriting Assistant, you will play an integral role in supporting our underwriting processes and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our operations
  • Provide support to the underwriting team by gathering and organizing necessary information for risk assessment and decision-making
  • Conduct thorough analysis of reinsurance submissions and related documents to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with underwriters, intermediaries, andand business partners to gather necessary information and resolve any issues
  • Assist in maintaining underwriting guidelines and procedures and ensure compliance with company standards
  • Prepare and review treaty endorsements/amendments, cancellations, and renewals
  • Proactively identify and report any discrepancies or potential risks in underwriting submissions
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in underwriting policies and procedures; assist underwriting team with tasks varying from accrual processes to accumulation monitoring work, ad hoc projects, etc.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
  • Contribute to the overall success and growth of the underwriting team by actively participating in meetings and providing valuable insights and suggestions, while acting as a liaison between underwriting and the services teams and other stakeholders
  • Comply with all regulatory and legal requirements related to underwriting operations

Your skills and abilities should include:

  • High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree a plus.
  • Insurance experience is a plus
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.
  • Ability to be creative and adaptable in a changing business environment.

SALARY:  The estimated salary range for this position is $75,000 to $82,500 pear year. This is a good-faith assessment of the salary range for this position only.  In determining the actual salary within this range, SiriusPoint will consider a candidate’s relevant experience, location, and other job-related factors.
