The Sr Staff Product Manager for BD's next generation cloud software platform will play a very valuable role for the organization. The three primary responsibilities of the position will be 1) to lead a product team responsible for the core platform services; 2) collaborating with partners to understand customer and market requirements; 3) defining and documenting the vision for this software platform and how it can maximize the value to BD and our customers.
To accomplish this, you will work with the product team to define and document product and feature requirements; work with beta customers to test and validate new releases; liaise with the customers to ensure that issues and defects are triaged, prioritized, and remediated; collaborate with other Product Managers to manage release coordination activities and partner for value delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Product Vision & Leadership: Provide strategic vision and direction to the product team and scrum team throughout the product lifecycle.
Product Definition: Develop crisp product and feature scope documents that can be used to drive product specifications and architecture, ensuring a clear understanding of product objectives and priorities for the product owner and development team.
Stakeholder Communication: Keep clients and collaborators informed on product status and lead product release plans, setting expectations for new functionalities.
Strategic Planning: become a key leader throughout our strategic planning sessions. Research market trends, user needs, and competitors to inform product requirements; define and drive business strategies based on comprehensive analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside hardware and software teams, manage customer experience trade-offs, and proactively resolve issues to deliver quality products on time.
Project Management & Dependency Oversight: Provide active leadership in mitigating impediments, ensuring governance for change management, leading adjustments to the plan, and managing dependencies to facilitate successful completion of Release/Sprint Goals.
Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a similar field
Master's Degree Preferred
5+ years of experience in Product Management or related roles
5+ years of experience working with PaaS or SaaS products
3+ years in people management
Experience writing product strategy documents
Strong understanding of cloud computing, APIs, and developer tools
Familiarity with Product Management tools (e.g., Aha!, Jira)
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work in team settings.
Good organizational and time management capabilities.
Experience with Agile practices and principles.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Creative thinking with a focus on product improvement.
Understanding of product feature prioritization.
Involvement in product roadmap development.
