Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant serves as an important member of the itel accounting team and will report to the company’s Accounting Manager. This role’s primary responsibilities include assisting with month- and year-end closing, performing the regular transactional accounting duties through general ledger posting entries, establishing accounting processes and documentation, and assisting with the financial audit.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in processing daily accounting transactions for all aspects of the business, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries
  • Assist in month-end and year-end procedures, such as preparing journal entries and performing reconciliations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information
  • Prepare ad hoc management reports as needed for research and explanation purposes
  • Prepare schedules and sample selections for audit requests
  • Provide additional general administrative support for the accounting department

 

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of experience in the accounting field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards such as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Energetic and enthusiastic attitude

  • Ability to maintain a positive and respectful demeanor
  • Ability to work both independently as well as within a team environment
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

PREFERRED

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
  • Prior experience with NetSuite
  • Mix of private and public accounting experience
  • Ability to travel, as needed

WORKING CONDITIONS/EQUIPMENT USE

  • Work is performed indoors in a typical office environment - not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to fifteen (15) pounds
  • Frequent use of office machines to include telephone, computer, and printer
