Job Description:

We are seeking a Principal CloudOps Engineer to take a lead role in managing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. This role demands technical expertise in cloud architecture, automation, and cost control while driving innovation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day cloud operations in Azure and AWS environments, ensuring optimal performance, uptime, and security.
  • Design and implement scalable, high-availability cloud architectures using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Lead automation initiatives to streamline cloud infrastructure deployment, patching, and configuration management.
  • Utilize Azure Security Center, AWS Security Hub, and related tools to assess, maintain, and improve cloud compliance and security posture.
  • Support and maintain on-premises private cloud deployments, ensuring security, performance, and seamless integration with public cloud services.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support CI/CD pipelines and implement DevOps best practices.
  • Manage incident response, problem resolution, and conduct root cause analysis to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Develop and maintain cloud cost optimization strategies to control operational expenses while improving efficiency.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative culture of innovation.
  • Implement proactive monitoring solutions to ensure comprehensive observability of cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with security teams to enforce best practices for securing cloud resources and maintaining compliance with internal standards.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience managing Azure, AWS, and on-premises private cloud environments.
  • Expertise in Terraform and Ansible for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation.
  • Proven track record in managing high-availability cloud environments with strict SLAs.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security frameworks and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Experience leveraging cloud-native tools like Azure Policy, AWS Config, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud to maintain compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate cost-effective contracts.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
  • Strong background in incident management, problem resolution, and disaster recovery planning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong documentation skills for technical guides, operational runbooks, and knowledge sharing.
  • Experience with observability tools is a plus.
  • Ability to balance technical requirements with business priorities, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
