Job Summary:

We are a dynamic and creative team dedicated to crafting impactful visual stories that inspire and engage. We’re seeking a talented Video Editor to join our team. If you thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment and have a passion for producing high-quality video content, we want to hear from you. 

We are a global company headquartered in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. This role is based in India and will primarily involve independent work, with some collaboration with a team operating in the Eastern Time zone (UTC -5). While most tasks can be completed asynchronously, some flexibility in scheduling may be necessary to align with critical discussions and key meetings. 

How You'll Make an Impact: 

  • Video Editing: Edit video footage into polished, professional content for a variety of platforms, including social media, websites, and promotional materials. 
  • Storytelling: Craft compelling narratives by seamlessly combining visuals, audio, and effects. 
  • Pre-Production: Ideate through storyboarding with a creative and strategic mindset  
  • Post-Production: Handle color grading, sound editing, and motion graphics to enhance video quality. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, creative, and production teams to align video content with brand messaging and project goals. 
  • Creative Input: Contribute innovative ideas for video concepts and storytelling techniques to elevate the brand’s visual identity. 
  • Creative Problem-Solving: Develop innovative design solutions that meet project objectives and resonate with our target audience. 
  • Inspiration: Follow industry best practices, stay informed of new trends, technologies, and look for continuous inspiration for increasing effectiveness. 
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all video work aligns with our brand identity, guidelines, and messaging. 

 What You'll Bring to the Role: 

  • Experience: 3+ years of video editing experience. 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media Production, or a related field. 
  • Examples of work: An inspiring portfolio that demonstrates experience, proficiency, and creativity. 
  • Technical Skills: 
    • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve). 
    • Experience with motion graphics and animation tools like After Effects is a plus. 
    • Strong understanding of cinematography principles, including framing, lighting, and sound recording. 
    • Experience with camera operation and video/audio capture is an asset but not a requirement for the role. 
  • Creativity: A strong eye for detail and a knack for storytelling through visuals. 
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high quality. 
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders. 
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to oversee video shoots or attend in-person key meetings. 
  • Approach: Ability to work independently based on briefing documents, direction and collaborative tools. 
  • Results-oriented: Ability to identify opportunities to strategically elevate videos for better performance. 
  • Innovation: Continuously seek out new strategies, compelling approaches, and trends with a ‘be bold’ mindset.
  • Flexibility: Willing and able to flex schedule as needed to accommodate meetings with teams in other time zones.
