Foth is seeking a Lead Geotechnical Engineer to support a variety of environmentally related projects. This role requires strong technical expertise in geotechnical engineering, focusing on the design and analysis of earth structures, marine foundations, and heavy-lift foundation support. The candidate will assess soil and rock conditions to ensure stable foundations and safe infrastructure, addressing environmental aspects and collaborating with multi-discipline teams. This role is open to remote, hybrid or in-office work.

Primarily Responsibilities:
  • Earth Structures & Foundations: Design, construction, and finite element analysis. Perform geotechnical analysis, design calculations, and ensure soil stability for heavy civil projects
  • Marine Structural Foundations: Pile driving analysis, dynamic pile testing, CAPWAP. Collaborate with structural engineers to create complementary foundation designs
  • Heavy-Lift Foundations: Evaluate soil and rock properties, load-bearing capacity, and ground improvement. Address environmental impacts and ensure sustainable practices
  • General Geotechnical: Collect data, analyze slope stability, manage groundwater, and assess geotechnical risks. Use tools like AutoCAD for design and decision-making
  • Project Management: Assist with proposals, reports, and project phases. Coordinate tasks, review junior staff work, and ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Field Work & Construction Support: Prepare design calculations, coordinate field work, provide construction observations, and perform site visits to analyze data

  • Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: 10+ years with an engineering consulting firm performing civil engineering work with a geotechnical focus in heavy civil design and construction
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field
  • Certification: Professional Engineering Certification (PE)
