Beam Benefits is transforming its product development approach to be insurance-driven, AI-enhanced, and revenue-focused. We’re looking for a Technical Product Owner to play a critical role in bridging Insurance Product Management, Engineering, and Operations.
Your focus will be on delivering scalable, data-driven solutions that enhance broker acquisition and optimize underwriting processes. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Product Manager with strong technical acumen who wants to dive deeper into AI-driven automation, system integrations, and insurance business processes.
Joining Beam Benefits Means:Working in a complex and dynamic business, simultaneously serving customers across employee benefits insurance product lines and growth and service channelsCollaborating with a diversely skilled team to continuously improveBeing empowered as an owner and expertBeing motivated by improving how people access employee benefitsWhat You Will Do:Lead the development of AI-driven automations and productization opportunities with underwriting, and broker acquisition tools by collaborating closely with Engineering, Data Analytics, and Insurance PM teamsOwn and refine the technical product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives such as loss ratios, revenue efficiency, and broker engagementDefine and prioritize user stories, technical requirements, and specifications, collaborating with Insurance Product Managers and Product OwnersWork with Engineering feature delivery and platform teams to ensure scalable architectures, API integrations, and system reliabilityPartner with Revenue Tech Engineering to automate and streamline the broker experienceServe as the main liaison between Insurance Product, Engineering, and Operations (Revenue and Internal), translating business priorities into actionable development workCollaborate with Data Analytics teams to integrate data models from underwriting and quoting workflows to reporting needsWork with Insurance teams to ensure new product features align with actuarial models and underwriting rulesParticipate in quarterly planning cycles with cross-functional teams to align on objectives and measure impactDefine requirements for AI-driven underwriting and quoting models to improve efficiency and reduce time-to-bind for brokersCollaborate with Engineering on automation initiatives to eliminate manual processes in policy issuance, claims, and broker interactionsMonitor and optimize conversion rates using AI-led insightsTrack and analyze key product metrics such as quote-to-bind conversion, underwriting efficiency, and broker engagementGather feedback from brokers, internal sales teams, and insurance stakeholders to refine and enhance product capabilitiesDrive continuous improvements in system performance and user experience based on data-driven insights
What Skills Will Help You Be Successful:4+ years of experience in product management or technical product managementStrong understanding of enterprise SaaS, APIs, and system integrationsExperience working closely with engineering teams, understanding technical constraints and trade-offsFamiliarity with Gen AI/ML applications in automation or predictive analyticsAbility to translate business objectives into clear, actionable technical requirementsExperience with Agile development methodologies, backlog management, and sprint planningStrong data-driven decision-making skills, with experience using product analytics toolsExcellent stakeholder communication skills, particularly with cross-functional teamsNice-to-Have Skills:Experience in insurance, insurtech, or fintech (knowledge of loss ratios, underwriting, broker operations is a plus)Familiarity with AI-driven automation tools, underwriting models, or policy management systemsHands-on experience with SQL, API testing, or technical documentationPrevious work with AI-enabled product solutions (e.g., automated underwriting, chatbot-driven sales processes)Compensation and Benefits:
