Role Overview
 
As a Data Engineer, you will be an integral member of our data team, helping to maintain and enhance Peerspace’s data infrastructure. You will focus on managing our production MongoDB databases, organizing warehousing data in BigQuery, and leveraging tools like DBT and Segment. Your contributions will ensure a clean and reliable data ecosystem that supports our BI tools, reporting, Marketing, and Data Science initiatives. Working closely with senior data engineers and cross-functional teams, you'll gain exposure to a variety of data sources and integrations while continuously improving our data processes.
 
Qualifications:
 
You are a great fit for this role if you have:
 
       Experience: 3-5 years in data engineering or related fields, with hands-on experience managing databases and data pipelines.
       Technical Skills:
       Proficiency in managing MongoDB databases, including performance tuning and maintenance.
       Experience with cloud-based data warehousing, particularly using BigQuery.
       Familiarity with DBT for data transformation and modeling.
       Exposure to tools like Segment for data collection and integration.
       Basic knowledge of integrating third-party data sources to build a comprehensive data ecosystem.
       Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills with an attention to detail when handling large datasets and ensuring data quality.
       Collaboration: Ability to work well in a team environment, learning from and contributing to the data engineering organization as well as the broader Peerspace technology organization.
       Growth Mindset: A keen interest in advancing your technical skills and staying up-to-date with emerging data technologies and best practices.
 
Responsibilities:
 
In this role, you will be responsible for:
 
       Database Management: Overseeing our production MongoDB database to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.
       Data Warehousing: Assisting in the management and optimization of data pipelines into BigQuery, ensuring data is organized and accessible for downstream users.
       Data Transformation: Utilizing DBT to transform raw data into structured formats, making it useful for analysis and reporting.
       Integration: Collaborating on the integration of data from Segment and various third-party sources to create a unified, clean data ecosystem.
       Collaboration: Working closely with BI, Marketing, and Data Science teams to understand data requirements and ensure our infrastructure meets their needs.
       Continuous Improvement: Participating in code reviews, learning new tools, and contributing to the refinement of data processes and best practices.

The annual salary range for this role is $145,000to $160,000. The actual salary will vary depending on experience, skills, and abilities as well as internal equity and market data.
