The Copywriter is responsible for producing copy for print, digital, and video direct response marketing materials, direct mail, advertising, and other collateral/branding efforts that conform to specific production and client branding guidelines while incorporating detailed strategic instructions from the ACD. This is an omnichannel role, but expertise in direct mail is essential. Collaborating closely with assigned Art Directors, the Copywriter will develop conceptual approaches that meet the strategic, production, and timing requirements of each project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop donor-centric, insight-driven, integrated creative solutions in collaboration with the Creative Group’s ACDs and Art Director.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop offers, determine resources, and provide input on direct mail materials.
  • Generate creative concepts and direction for marketing materials and campaigns.
  • Serve as the resident client expert by gathering, organizing, and delegating resources, ensuring alignment with brand standards, tone, and messaging.
  • Stay informed on client activities and developments relevant to their mission and outreach.
  • Research marketing trends, strategies, and technologies to ensure best practices.
  • Present and lead meetings with clients and agency teams.
  • Manage timelines, write multiple projects simultaneously, and ensure quality control throughout the creative process.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in advertising, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Knowledge of direct response marketing best practices, particularly in fundraising writing for direct mail, digital media, and DRTV.
  • 2+ years of direct response fundraising experience is required, including:
    • Concept and campaign development (required)
    • Copywriting for an agency, direct response firm, or fundraising organization (preferred)
    • Creative development across traditional and digital media (required)
    • Direct mail campaign experience (required)
  • Proficiency in project management and communication platforms (e.g., Adobe Workfront, Microsoft Teams).
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and trends.

The ideal Copywriter will have exceptional omnichannel writing skills, a strong understanding of emerging technologies, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and remote environment. They should possess excellent communication skills for brainstorming and team collaborations, demonstrate leadership with a proactive mindset, and maintain high levels of integrity and attention to detail.

A portfolio showcasing strong direct mail and digital creative work will be required during the hiring process.

LOCATION: Remote, U.S. | Must be able to work 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM U.S. Central Time Zone. No travel required.

Pay Range expected for the position: $60,000 - $75,000 annually.
