About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Test Engineer to join our growing Data Engineering team in Madrid. This role will be crucial in ensuring the quality and reliability of our data pipelines, data warehouses, and data-driven applications. You will collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and other stakeholders to develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, identify and report defects, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. This position offers a dynamic work environment with a hybrid work model, allowing for a balance of remote and in-office collaboration.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for data engineering projects.
Perform various types of testing, including functional, integration, regression, performance, and data quality testing.
Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems.
Analyze test results and provide detailed reports to the development team.
Collaborate with Data Engineers to understand data pipelines, data models, and business requirements.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of automated testing frameworks.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity throughout the data lifecycle.
Validate data transformations and data loads.
Test data related APIs.
Required Skills:
Proven experience in software testing, preferably in a data engineering or related field.
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices.
Experience with SQL and data manipulation.
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies.
Experience with testing tools and frameworks (e.g., JUnit, PyTest, Selenium, Postman).
Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test documentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic understanding of data pipelines and ETL processes.
Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
Preferred Skills:
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages.
Experience with data visualization tools.
