Emergent Method is seeking a qualified ETL Developer to support development and testing activities related to a conversion project for a state government agency. This is a remote, full-time position that will support ongoing project operations. Remote candidates will be considered and are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate is experienced, self-motivated, and adept in handling a wide range of data conversion tasks. This individual must be flexible, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and willing to embrace the challenges of supporting the continued development and success of a growing workforce. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Develop program modules using SSIS ETL tool (SQL Server Integration Services – ETL tool used for SQL Server Databases) based on defined requirements
Create and execute SQL queries via SQL database
Analyze/troubleshoot data integrity issues and data discrepancies
Validate/test conversion program modules to ensure accuracy
Manage and execute large number of SSIS modules via SSA (SQL Server Agent)
Communicate daily status updates to key stakeholders and project team
Provide technology design and develop and support risk and regulatory platform capabilities, functions, and processes
Collaborate with source systems’ technical representatives to troubleshoot data issues and to process source systems’ data extracts
Understand business requirements with respect to data needs
Analyze source data and perform data gap analysis, source-to-target mappings, and data integration design
Implement and maintain database schemes to support the transformation of the source systems’ data and loading into the target systems’ databases
Troubleshoot program modules performance issues and performance tune program modules and database tables
Minimum qualifications include:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, ISDS, or related field
At least five years of experience utilizing ETL software, such as Informatica and/or SSIS
At least five years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience
At least two years of experience in converting data from a source database to target database, including the loading, transformation, and cleansing of the legacy source system databases
At least five years of experience working on a SQL server
At least five years of experience working on relationship databases
At least five years of experience creating and executing SQL queries and Store Procedures
At least five years of performing unit testing, integration testing and system testing ETL modules
At least five years of reporting individual status
At least one year of experience in developing and testing SSIS programs
Experience with using JIRA is highly preferred
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills - ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and accuracy – strong quality of work and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
Experience with applying new technologies to business needs in a technologically innovative, change-driven organization
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
