Your Opportunity
This is your opportunity to have it all! Be part of a close-knit team, backed by the global power of Siemens Healthineers. As an Installation Technician, you will be responsible for travelling to customer sites (sometimes overnight) to install or de-install medical imaging equipment. A typical week includes travelling on Monday to a customer site, staying overnight Monday and Tuesday (sometimes Wednesday), then heading home for office work. We will set you up with a laptop to work from home as our corporate headquarters is in Brookfield, WI. You are almost always home Thursday through Sunday. Periodically you may need to travel on a Sunday if the Monday site is far away. There are no on-call shifts.
Siemens Healthineers is a global leader in medical technology and their imaging systems are integral in many surgical settings, including general, vascular, orthopedics, trauma, pulmonology, urology, spine, cardiology, interventional radiology, and pain management.
We have 2 territories available:
- Minnesota - which primarily covers all of Minnesota and northern Wisconsin. This person could also travel to southern Wisconsin, NW Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois.
- Illinois - which primarily covers southern Wisconsin, NW Indiana, Michigan, and all of Illinois. This person could also travel to Minnesota.
Responsibilities
Project Coordination
- Communicates directly with Delta Medical Systems' Project Managers, Installation Technicians, Customer Service Engineers, Installation and Calibration Engineers, customers and contractors to accomplish the installation task in the scheduled time frame and to meet the customer's expectations.
- Support Delta Medical Systems' quality policy through compliance with quality management system documentation.
- Cleans and maintains in good working condition all assigned equipment and vehicles.
- Turns in required paperwork in a complete and timely manner.
- Notifies Project Manager of arrival and departure from sites.
Customer Site Installation Activities
- Travel to medical facilities weekly within our regions to assemble and install medical imaging devices (this includes rigging, unpacking, and setting the devices in place).
- Pulls interconnecting system wiring and cables into trough and conduits. Makes electrical connections to terminals.
- Uses a wide variety of power tools, hand tools, measuring/leveling tools, ladders and lifting devices to accomplish equipment assembly, disassembly task and calibration.
- Drill holes in walls, floors, install anchoring devices and torque hardware to mount system components per site plan and manufacturer specifications.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to identify wire and cable colors
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to work in hospital environment around live imaging systems
- Excellent mechanical, communication, organizational and computer skills
- 2 years’ working experience in a mechanical environment with some direct customer contact
Preferred Knowledge/Skills
- Experience with Siemens imaging systems
- 1 year of electrical experience
- Installation experience of medical imaging equipment with major OEM
Physical Demands
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 80 lbs. of equipment, tools or test equipment (assistance available when lifting heavier items or in awkward positions).
- Frequently bends, stoops, twists, turns, and work on step ladders and in unusual positions using full body mobility.
- Requires use of hands and fingers to handle or feel.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
