Job description

A Day in the Life and the Impact You’ll Make:

In this role, your primary responsibility is driving business growth and expanding the customer base of DEKRA by identifying and nurturing potential opportunities through proactive outreach and effective lead qualification.  The role is within the operational team and reports directly to the DEKRA Senior VP. The BDVP understands how DEKRA can be pitched to Jurisdictions throughout the USA and decision-makers in a local context and communicates this knowledge effectively.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop a business strategy together with the DEKRA Management Team for the region that will gain more programs within the region.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders, maintain personal contact with them, and get a good overview and understanding of the opportunities in the region.
  • Present, demonstrate and support DEKRA solutions within the US region.
  • Conduct research to identify new Jurisdictions and customer needs and actively build the business in the America’s.
  • Work closely with the DEKRA Marketing Team on various marketing content,
  • Contact all 50 states in the USA, making DEKRA’s presence known in the region. Connect with these jurisdictions, and introduce DEKRA, and become a contact on their RFP platform.
  • Take initiative and work independently to contact the relevant people in your region and learn about their connections within the Vehicle Inspection area. Identify the communication channels being used in the vehicle Inspection sector.
  • Work together with the DEKRA Marketing Team for local marketing campaigns and brainstorm marketing ideas and ways to promote DEKRA. Support social media assets and promotions for any targeted jurisdiction.
  • Work with the DEKRA legal team and support lobbying actions in certain states and Jurisdictions

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience in preparing a basic business plan.
  • Experience with a P&L.
  • Experience with local and international Jurisdictions in the USA
  • Ability to meet and exceed achievable targets.
  • Foundational knowledge of computer networking and “how the internet works”
  • Motivation, drive, and a self-starting attitude
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, such as sales and marketing.
  • Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce.com, proficiency in LinkedIn.
  • Effective communicator with strong follow-up skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Adaptability, resilience, and the ability to handle rejection or objections in a positive manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to grasp technical concepts and terminology quickly. 

Physical Considerations:

  • Must be able to withstand the rigors of extensive travel.
  • May require difficult travel and long periods of driving.
  • Ability to move and conduct work with full range of motion.
  • Ability to lift 25-50lbs (luggage)
  • Extended periods of computer-based work
  • Extended periods of standing

Travel Considerations:

  • Domestic and/or international travel required, estimated up to 75%

Compensation: 

DEKRA North America’s compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets The base pay for this position ranges from $110,000 annually in our lowest geographic market up to $125,000 annually in our highest geographic market.  Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
