Description
Under supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), incumbent will author or co-author manuscripts, abstracts, poster presentations, book chapters for the study, as well as re-write and re-organize lengthy manuscripts, conduct literature reviews. Incumbent will evaluate manuscripts for value and logic, ensure stylistic consistency, and suggest ways to improve the manuscript. Incumbent will lead manuscript team, work with PI to generate novel, innovative and clear ideas for publications. Other duties assigned as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from college with major work in health sciences or English, and/or in a subject matter area related to the editorial specialty (Medicine, Biology or other basic science), and demonstrated editing and writing abilities, and at least one full year of professional editorial experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency, as author or co-author of manuscripts in clinical research.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct scientific literature reviews.
- Ability to draw conclusions and summarize written data, scientific abstracts, and scientific articles.
- Ability to perform statistical analysis and draw conclusions from analysis.
- Excellent English language skills and demonstrated superior writing capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, Endnote, and Adobe to produce presentations, graphs, charts, footnotes, bibliographies.
- Knowledge of editorial and publishing processes, including proofreading symbols and their proper use, andmeticulous attention to detail in all forms of communication.
- Ability to interact with tact and diplomacy with members of the community, research collaborators, faculty and staff.
- Ability to coordinate the writing and publications of program directors and research staff; ability to develop andmaintain realistic timeframes for the group's production and publication of writings.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $59,111 - $71,034 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $28.31 - $34.02
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
